Ben Schueler

Ben is a registered Clinical Psychologist with a wide range of experience working with children, young people and families/carers. He completed his Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2000 at the University of NSW. Ben works currently in a Child Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) providing consultations in the community and the Emergency Department/Inpatient settings, and previously with Nepean Hospital Developmental Clinic, and as a School Counsellor.

Ben has gained extensive experience in the assessment and diagnosis of infants, children and adolescents with developmental delay, neurodevelopmental disorders including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and learning difficulties. In his current role at CYMHS he has 15 years’ experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health issues related to children and young people.

Ben is accredited in the Griffiths III, Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development 4th Edition, as well as standardised cognitive and learning assessments.

In his psychology practice Ben has a client centred consultative approach. He values the expertise young people and families can bring. He listens to their concerns to develop the most suitable and appropriate assessment plan to gain insights to best support the child, young person and families/carers.

Ben is raising his teen son, enjoys playing guitar, recording his own music, travelling and time in nature.
